I started today off with multiple-choice questions from the 2017 exam on the American System. It’s been a few days since I’ve given multiple-choice questions and wanted to provide more practice.
When the students were finished, I went over the PowerPoint, APUSH Review: Comparing And Contrasting The 1st And 2nd Party Systems.
At the end of the PowerPoint, students completed the Short Answer Question I created. I collected them and will review them this weekend.
Here’s the Short Answer Question:
Answer all 3 parts:
- A) Briefly explain how ONE of the following was most significant in the formation of political parties in the early 19th century (Whigs and Democrats)
- National Bank (BUS)
- Federally funded internal improvements
- B) Provide ONE piece of historical evidence that supports your choice in part A.
- C) Briefly explain why one of the other options is not as significant in the formation of political parties in the early-19th century.
