At the beginning of class I collected the students’ Chapter 10 outlines. I move quickly through chapters 11 and 12. Instead of having the students read and outline two chapters in a week, I review the important material with them.
Today I wanted to review the growth of slavery (periods 1 – 3). Students watched the video, The Growth of Slavery and Its Consequences while I passed back completed work. When the students finished the video, we reviewed the-growth-of-slavery-quick-assessment.
I passed out a DBQ on the Growth of Slavery that will be due next Monday. We reviewed the first five documents together. I will finish up the last two tomorrow. This will be the last DBQ that I will review the documents with the students in class – they’re on their own after this.
