Hello Mr. Norris, first off, thank you so much for the videos, they’re so helpful and informative, and really save a lot of time. But I have a question about the AP Exam. So as I’m going through major events in history, to what extent should we know about that event/person. I mean when I see “Missouri Compromise”, it rings a bell, and I can explain what it is, but are supposed to know some of the causes and effects of the compromise as well? This goes for other topics as well. Thanks

Hello! I have my students read the chapter that we are doing prior to starting the week. Then, each night they watch a different video based off of the chapters, and watch the chapter review video at the end of the week (usually on Thursday night). In class, we do graphic organizers, look at sources, charts, etc., or practice essay writing. Hope that helps!

Hi! I absolutely love these videos and they have helped me so much! However the one thing that I do not agree with is the fact that you called Iran’s shah a “brutal” dictator in chapter 37. He was actually loved by many people, including my parents and grandparents. What has now turned into the government of Iran right now, is what you should call brutal. If he would have stayed as the shah, Iran’s condition right now would have been much better. I know from experience because I live there 3 months out of the year.
Thank you for adding this. I would wholeheartedly agree that the current government is brutal. Like many political figures, different people have different views. Your videos are fantastic, but in my version of the American Pageant, chapter 30 is American Life in the “Roaring Twenties,” not War to end all Wars, which doesn’t seem to exist as a chapter in my textbook. As a result, all of the following chapters are off by one number, which unfortunately I have taken a long time to notice. Not sure if my textbook is an older version or something, it’s the 16th edition. It might be helpful to specify if you’re using a different version to spare people the confusion of watching the wrong videos. The videos are super helpful other than that though, my whole class uses them.
